Autumn is a season of transformation, where nature puts on a vibrant display of warm hues—deep reds, golden yellows, and burnt oranges—before the chill of winter sets in. The air becomes crisp, and the scent of fallen leaves fills the atmosphere, evoking a sense of nostalgia and comfort. It’s a time for cozy sweaters, warm drinks, and the comforting flavors of seasonal spices. Autumn also brings a sense of reflection and preparation, as the harvest is gathered and homes are adorned with symbols of the season, like pumpkins and gourds. Whether it’s the sound of leaves crunching underfoot or the sight of a harvest moon, autumn is a season that invites us to slow down, enjoy simple pleasures, and embrace the change around us.

Cast on 36 loops to your needles + the one from the starting knot. Close the round.

R1 – 18: knit 5, pearl 1, repeat. You now have 6 ‘parts’ with 5 knitting stitches separated by 1 pearl stitch.

Cast off by cutting a very long tail from the yarn. Start weaving through the loops on your hook and cable.

Let the loops slide off the needles. Now pull the thread through the loops tight to close the bottom of the pumpkin.

Start stuffing the pumpkin bit by bit from now on!

With the yarn, push through the inside of the pumpkin. Now go through the loops on the other side. Before pulling tight, stuff the pumpkin more.

Now with the remaining thread, go over the pearl-stitch areas to create lines in the pumpkin. Do this to the opposite pearl-row to create a nice and even shape. With every pearl row, you push the yarn through the top of the pumpkin to come out of the other side to repeat the process. Pull tight every time to make the sides of the pumpkin stand out.
